Cardinal Burke Celebrates Privately the Traditional Mass

Cardinal Raymond Burke has revealed that he celebrates both forms of the Mass, the new rite and the Traditional Latin Mass. Talking to catholicoutlook.org he added, “Oftentimes privately I do celebrate the Extraordinary Form”.

Burke was ordained a priest in 1975 in the new rite. Until recently he needed a book for the prayer at the foot of the altar, an indication that he did not celebrate the Old Rite regularly.

Burke is nothing more than a neo-traditionalist. Why not be a real leader and offer the holy sacrifice of the mass in Latin as a public worship? I can never understand how a priest can put the Latin mass on equal footing with the Novus Ordo.
