Świętująca tytuł Mistrzostw Świata publika francuska starła się z policją. Doszło do regularnej bitwy, w ruch poszły - po jednej stronie race, płyty chodnikowe. Po drugiej, tej policyjnej - między innymi gaz, armatki wodne i pałki. Chuligani demolowali i przewracali samochody, niszczyli sklepy. Jedna osoba została poważnie ranna, a kilka innych miało mniej groźne obrażenia. TF1 podawała, że północna część Pól Elizejskich została ewakuowana. Tak bawili się francuscy chuligani.
