Dom Isidoro RIP: A Cartusian Life

• He was one of the last four monks of Santa Maria di Scala Coeli Monastery in Evora, Portugal, who moved to Miraflores in 2019.
• Dom Isidoro (Francisco) was born in Carmona, near Seville, on 30th November 1926.
• He entered the Carthusian monastery of Aula Dei in October 1943 at the age of 17.
• He was a novice master for more than 50 years and wrote many poems, including the Song of Life.
• He loved his garden and used to say, “If the flowers are so beautiful, what will heaven be like?”.
• To Our Lady, he wrote: "My death will be sweet, if I imitate your life; I can ascend to God, trusting that it was only by loving you that I was able to live".
• A cerebral haemorrhage gradually weakened him, but he always remained lucid and even managed to concelebrate.
