This was the right decision, without a doubt. But, he should have been restored to his position immediately, because it was apparent that he was fired for anti religious bigotry. Had he been fired because he actually favored the players who participated, he would have been in the wrong, under the law. This was the right decision, without a doubt. But, he should have been restored to his position immediately, because it was apparent that he was fired for anti religious bigotry. Had he been fired because he actually favored the players who participated, he would have been in the wrong, under the law. At worst, players may have felt pressure to participate, but the majority dismissed this because he was fired for praying, not for playing favorites. The downside of this decision is that there are 3 justices who favor the worst bigotry, so long as it is against white Christian men.
