Tucho Arranged Well-Funded "Landing Spot" For Long-Standing Close Priest Friend
He was one of Pope Francis's three personal secretaries and also a long-standing close aide of pro-homosexual Cardinal Tucho Fernández.
Employed by Cardinal Bergoglio
In 2011 and 2012, Pellizzón collaborated with Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Buenos Aires in organising his personal archives.
Tucho’s Confidant
He then worked as secretary to Tucho, who was the rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina.
In November 2018, Pellizzón was ordained a priest in Buenos Aires. Tucho, who was ruining the Archdiocese of La Plata at the time, delivered the homily at his First Mass.
Pope Francis sent him a postcard with a handwritten note asking him "to continue being merciful."
In July 2023, Pope Francis appointed Tucho as the new Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and Pellizzón as his private secretary. The latter replaced Uruguayan priest Gonzalo Aemilius.
Michael Haynes writes on his Substack.com account Per Mariam that Francis arranged the appointments “knowing that Fernández and Pellizon would be keen to remain in close proximity in their working lives, almost as a package deal”.
Expellled From the Seminary
In December, ElWanderer.com wrote that the new San Cayetano de Belgrano parish is elegant and wealthy. The author interprets the role of pastor at a prominent Belgrano parish as a comfortable and prestigious diocesan assignment, suggesting that Tucho arranged a favourable position for Pellizzon upon his departure from Rome. Pellizzon was also made a monsignor.
The article also mentions that Pellizzon was previously expelled from the Buenos Aires seminary ("we will draw a veil of silence over the reason") and that he was ordained by Cardinal Mario Poli in 2018 only "reluctantly" and by "papal mercy".
