Vatican’s Chairwomen for "Protection of Children" Wants to Abort the Children (sic)
The Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors published on 29 October its first annual report on the Church's policies and procedures for the alleged protection of minors.
The working group that drafted the document was chaired by a Dutch lawyer, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, whose appointment as a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors dates back to September 2022.
The woman has a long career in controversial institutions such as the Council of Europe, where she was Deputy Secretary General from 2002 to 2012, and the UN, where she was Special Rapporteur on child trafficing, child prostitution and child pornography from 2014 to 2020.
Boer-Buquicchio has called for commercial surrogacy, which the Church rejects, to be conducted in a way that does not constitute the sale of children, "if it is clear that the surrogate mother is paid only for her gestational services and not for the transfer of the child".
