@laurelmarycecilia Actually...the Church left them.... After growing up with the strong guidance and compelling beauty of Tradition, the Church took all that away and gave them guitars, Kumbaya and infantile liturgies intead. Is it any wonder they left behind that insipid excuse for religion which the "New Church" offered them?

That is absolutely beautiful. Only thing... why did their kids turn out so badly? why did their kids leave the Church in droves?

The great falling away happened because those kids didn't have a firm grounding in the Faith. If they really knew the Faith , that they could not have even thought that.

But the changing of the True Sacrifice of the Mass into a Protestant commemoration, with no option for the True Mass, drove people from the churches in confusion. But the changing of the True Sacrifice of the Mass into a Protestant commemoration, with no option for the True Mass, drove people from the churches in confusion. I was one of them, baptized in 1960, first Communion in 1968, then everything changed. I didn’t know what to think, we went from the solemn High Mass incensing of the altar to the guitar Mass and Kumbaya. God brought me back to the true Church in my 40s when I discovered there was another option, the SSPX and other traditional groups who were perpetuating what I thought was lost.
