Francis denied during his April 8 homily again that Judas burns in hell although he knows that Christ said it would be better for Judas “if he had never been born.”
“Does this mean that Judas is in hell?" Francis asks. His reply, "I don't know. I look at the Gospel, and I see Jesus calling him friend.”
Perhaps speaking about himself, Francis also mentioned “the little Judas we carry within ourselves,” but kept quiet about Christ saying that “Satan entered into Judas” (John 13:27) who is “the son of perdition” (John 17:12).
