Doubts About the Beatification
Vatican
Guido Horst is a well known German Catholic journalist. On March 2nd he mentioned in the Catholic daily “Die Tagespost” doubts concerning the beatification of Pope John Paul II. Both, Horst and “Die Tagespost”, are close to the positions of Pope Benedict XVI. Horst points out that the scandal surrounding the founder of the Legionaries of Christ could fire back on the forthcoming beatification. Horst is also concerned about documents shedding light on the ties between the Vatican and the Catholic Polish union Solidarnosc. These documents were transported to Krakow by now Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz and have not been screened for the beatification process. Horst finally worries about to the fact that John Paul II’s secretary of state, cardinal Angelo Sodano, has refused to witness in person for the beatification. Yes, it is to be expected. However, we are not the world's doormats nor are we to simply roll over and allow attacks against our members, or our Church, or, most importantly, our Lord to occur.

As you know, Catholics and Christians are being maimed and killed around the world on an almost daily basis. If these kinds of murderous actions were being perpetrated against Jews, Spielberg would have made a dozen movies about it, the nightly news would be filled with stories and several mini-series would begin on ABCCBSNBCCNN ET AL.

When anti-Catholic abuse comes in this country as the result of the anti-Christs in Hollyweird or their cousins in NY, it must be challenged and countered in the strongest means available within the law. If that leads to public protests, boycotts or exposing the work of these bigots, then so be it. It is not anti-Semitiism that is at issue in our country and the world today although one would think so if they listen to the propaganda on the networks. It is anti-Christianity which has clearly become the last acceptable prejudice being much more acceptable than homophobia, killing unborn babies and anti-Semitism.

You quoted scripture:

[21]But all these things they will do to you for my name's sake: because they know not him who sent me.[22]If I had not come, and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.[23]He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.[24]If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

Yes, indeed the words of Our Lord. But, we musn't tell the Jews.
