Father Michael Heinz, the head of the German relief organization Adveniat is “certain” that celibacy will be abolished.
Heinz said to the German paper Neues Ruhr-Wort (February 24) that the only question is “when” Francis will introduce married priests. Adveniat is the German bishops' relief organization for Latin America. Its annual budget is 50 million dollars.
According to Vatican rumours Francis will use his Amazon Synod as a pretext to abolish priestly celibacy.
