Stepping Back: Pope Francis has made a step back in his plans to unify all Vatican finances under one body, the Secretariat for the Economics guided by Cardinal George Pell. According to the Corriere della Sera Pell will only monitor, but not manage the assets of the Vatican and the Holy See.
Revolting Bishop: French born Bishop Jean-Paul Vesco of Oran, Algeria, has attacked the indissolubility of Christian marriage. Vesco is a Dominican. He has published a book on the subject with the deceptive title “All true love is indissoluble”. In an interview with La Croix he insulted the Church, the Gospel and Jesus Christ. Quote: “The Church's discipline regarding the divorced and remarried hurts me and, frankly, has been revolting to me for a long time.” Vesco alleges that the Church has “ideologized the indissolubility of marriage” entering - quote – “in contradiction with the truth of the person.”
