“Today I had the immense privilege of presenting my book and research to His Holiness after attending mass in his private chapel in Santa Marta.

I explained I had grown up in a Church that told me “that I could never be a wife, a mother or a grandmother” and explained that was why I had attempted to make myself straight by going through so-called “conversion therapy”. I shared that my Foundation’s research showed the impact of such "therapy" on hundreds of others, many of whom had attempted suicide. I ended by saying that I prayed that all would know they are precious children of God and acceptable just as they are.
The Pope responded by taking my hands and saying “Please pray for me as I pray for you”.
