Francis Plays the Fear-Card.
Pope Francis Mournes Russian Journalist
On his flight to Panama, Pope Francis asked the journalists on the plane to pray for the late Russian journalist Alexey Bukalov. He was the ITAR-TASS bureau chief in Rome and covered Vatican affairs for over ten years. Francis said – quote, “This is the first flight where a journalist is missing whom I liked very much.” According to Francis, Bukalkov had – quote – “a humanism that is not afraid of what is human and not even of what is divine.” Bukalov died in late December at the age of 78 in Rome.

As foreseeable, Pope Francis has played the fear-card when commenting on the border security U.S. President Donald Trump wants to put in place.
