Bishop Williamson Preaches at His 80th Birthday
On March 8, Bishop Richard Williamson celebrated his 80th birthday with a Pontifical High Mass in a hotel in England under emergency conditions. In the beginning of his excellent 40-minute-homily, he recalled his first step as a Protestant unbeliever toward the Church. At some point, he visited Ireland stopping at a monastery where he met a Benedictine monk who told him: “The help of God is closer than the door.”
Williamson’s First Contact with the Catholic Church
When he was 24-years-old, in 1964, he was teaching in Africa at a secondary school. While playing golf on a Sunday morning, a thought crossed his mind, which he believes came from God: “What are we going to hold our children to?” Williamson explains that he understood that there was an order lacking. Back in London, it became clear to him that the chaos of modern apostasy started with Protestantism. So, he began turning toward the Catholic Church. His first address happened to …More

@Holy Cannoli, @elbow: What a surreal discussion: The goyim accusing each other of "who is the biggest holocaust denier" 😂. Imagine a Jewish forum where they would accuse themselves of who is the biggest "anti-Catholic". Poor Goyim... Do you Goyim not have your own topics to discuss? Why not just discuss the content of the above post? םי מבין את זה?
elbow
I'm not sure whether I should read the above from left to right or rather the opposite way. In any case, my apologies, dear Rebe, for any inconvenience. I have thought that the content of the above post was 80 years of Bishop Richard Williamson. Now I suppose that I must have missed some point.
Don Reto Nay
Now, dear elbow, you didn't miss the point, but were perfectly on track. However, my Hebrew was distorted by the system, I see now. Correct is: מי מבין את זה. You read from right to left. מ = m and י = ee. So the first word is "mee" pronounced like "me" which means "who?", like in Mi-cha-el = who is like God. Hebrew is not difficult. I recommend www.duolingo.com to learn it.

Williamson caused an outcry in 2009 after publicly denying the Holocaust in a TV interview whilst being readmitted into the fold of the Catholic Church by the Vatican, has publicly criticized Pope Benedict XVI for absolving Jews of age-old charges of ‘deicide’. In his weekly web blog ‘Eleison Comments’, Williamson – one of four bishops of the ultra-conservative Catholic breakaway group Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) – writes that “the killing of Jesus was truly ‘deicide’” and that “only the Jews (leaders and people) were the prime agents of the deicide because it is obvious from the Gospels that the Gentile most involved, Pontius Pilate, would never have condemned Jesus to death had not the Jewish leaders roused the Jewish people to clamour for his crucifixion.”

Yes, Gospels and Church Fathers (I don't mean newChurch fathers) are unanimous in that matter. St. Augustine says (Tractatus super Psalmos - sung during Tenebrae before the VII revolution) even that they killed Him with their tongues.

During the papacy of Pope John Paul II (1978-2005 ), Catholic-Jewish relations, in many ways, soared to new heights: the Vatican established diplomatic relations with Israel, while the pope became the first-ever to visit a synagogue and later made a pilgrimage to Israel. He also acknowledged the Church’s history of anti-Semitism and called on Catholics to repent for it, often using the Hebrew word for repentance, teshuvah. The pontiff referred to Jews as “our brothers” and won praise for deepening the commitment to interfaith understanding formulated by the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s. 😎

So you really shouldn't remind Elbow of his last big discussion of "anti-Semitism," particularly when he put so much effort into it. Poor man... He gave it his best and his best simply wasn't good enough. His re-matches were equally abortive.

Btw. elbow I'm not a "Sea Pedestrian" nor is anyone else for at least two millenia. The only chaps who managed that feat were Jesus and the Apostle Peter. Even the latter wasn't all that good at it.

Your mistake is common to anti-Semitic thought. You simply must stop projecting that unrelenting hatred of the Mosaic Hiking Club onto everyone who shames you. Ludovic does the same. Matty does as well. Your hatred blinds you. Just because I put you in your place doesn't make me one of "them". Does not Scripture state we should correct our erring bretheren?

If you truly fancy yourself a Catholic, you might also remember from your catechism that lying to defame is a grave sin in our faith.

Or at least my faith.

I suspect you're here only because this is one of the few places that tolerates your kind. There's the irony. You point at what I supposedly am and I point at what you obviously are not. :D

"Why not just discuss the content of the above post?"

Two reasons, 1.) because post-hijacking you gives them a better audience for their content. 2.) because topic-shifting other people's posts isn't banned on GTV.

Since you asked. ;-)

I don't care about your faith and your fantasies on Mosaic Hiking Clubs, baiters and haters. In reality activity of all Mosaic Hiking Clubs led to and ended on the mount of Calvary about 2,000 years ago. You must have overlooked that important event after which some people of fulfilled and abrogated Law turned to novelties of Talmud in their vain quest of seeking a messiah somewhere else.
