The Peruvian Pachamama-adorer Carlos Castillo Mattasoglio who is Lima Archbishop, Peru, said during an archdiocesan synod (January 7) that “no one converts in front of the Tabernacle” (video below).
Castillo explained that one is converted by “meeting with people” who challenge us.
He argued that one may pray in front of the tabernacle only later, however, in “this situation of passivity” it is very rare that one has enlightenment.
AciPrensa.com reports (January 9) that according to an internal synod source Castillo later “apologised” for these words.
On the same day, Castillo stated at the Synod that the image of Catholics as Christ’s soldiers is “obsolete.”

It might be something as simple as the Masses you celebrate being invalid - you need to validly Consecrate a Eucharist in order to gain any effect. Get a none-heretical, validly ordained Priest to assist you during Holy Mass, then have another …More

The Archbishop's words are patently false. I am a convert to the Catholic faith. It was my chance encounter with the living presence of Christ in the Tabernacle on a tour of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan on a cold December day in the 1980s that touched my heart and soul in such a profound way, later leading me to embrace the True Church that Christ Himself founded. It was a brief encounter with the Presence in the tabernacle that first set my heart ablaze. One truly wonders what many of these bishops believe nowadays and if they have any sense of the supernatural left in them. But I suppose that sadly since some of them, including Archbishop Mattasoglio, are now defiling Our Lord's Sanctuary with false idols, it is no surprise that they are blind to Our Lord present in the Tabernacle waiting there patiently to nourish and draw errant hearts to Himself.

Catholics need to understand that none of these people have licit ecclesiastical authority.
