Lenten Mission on Practicing for Heaven, Part 4: Heavenly Spirituality.
To practice for something, we must have something proportional to the end itself. We cannot practice without proper ideas, actions, equipment, actions that will be present in the final event! We need heaven here!! And we have it available in the Mass opening doors at the Consecration as many works of art put on display. WE also have it in the descriptions of Divine Revelation. We can indeed look up and see God. We can enter into His courts. Here, then, is an important part of practicing for heaven: knowing that there is an up and a down... that we do have a heavenly spirituality that enables us to look up and connect with the heaven above.
