Lenten Mission on Practicing for Heaven, Part 1: Heaven Helps Those Who Practice for Heaven.
Lessons learned in this conference. (i) to make it to heaven, we must practice and practice daily. (ii) The saints show us that this practice starts with prayer. Are we praying as the saints did, that is, by using what the Church has provided us? Are we attending Mass regularly and being exposed to the heavenly rays it provides? (iii) Not everyone goes to heaven… thus, we must work out our salvation in fear and trembling as St. Paul instructs us. Again this requires we practice and practice our whole life. Use every day as if it were a representation of your whole life… beginning and ending each day with prayer, always willing to start anew and strive to do all that God has willed for us. (iv) Overcoming obstacles to heaven is possible and required, even the obstacle of unforgiveness and deep wounds.
