Pride and Confusion November 17 2019 XXXIII Sunday of Ordinary Time Dear brothers and sisters, the passage of the first reading of the Liturgy of next Sunday, November 17, taken from the book of the Prophet Malachi, clearly states that pride is the gravest sin that man can commit. Pride, in fact, is capable of preventing God from saving man. The Word of God teaches us that pride is the sin of Satan who, deluding himself that he could substitute himself for God, sank into eternal confusion. Pope Francis, for his part, has always warned us against dialoguing with satan, repeatedly stating that diabolical action is certainly one of the causes, if not the most important, of the current individualism and exaggerated narcissism that is so badly affecting our post-modern world.
