Lisa: Francis’ Phone Call Went Wrong

Lisa Federico, 17, who was born in Ukraine but adopted into a Roman family as a child, suffered from bone marrow aplasia and died in November 2020 at the Vatican’s Bambin Gesù Paediatric hospital after receiving a wrong bone marrow transplant.

Now three doctors are under investigation for manslaughter. The transplant was not urgent, and there would have been alternative therapies.

Lisa’s parents wrote a very harsh letter to Francis who harbours the ultramontanist belief that he is in charge of everything and can resolve every problem.

Accordingly, he reached for his phone and call the parents. But they were not impressed, and noticed that the call lasted just three minutes and 41 seconds (LaNuovaBQ.it, June 18).
