Munich Archdiocese: Picture of Fat, Naked Woman to Represent "Coronation of Our Lady"
New wayside shrines depicting a fat, naked woman as the 'Mother of God' are being erected in the Archdiocese of Munich.
The shrines are being made for a pilgrimage route leading to the Church of Maria Eck, which is located above Siegsdorf in Bavaria.
The current wayside shrines represent the mysteries of the Rosary. They are over 50 years old and need to be renewed. Students from a nearby woodcarving school have been given the task. The project is financed by the district of Traunstein.
The state broadcaster Br.de recently presented the designs. The wayside shrine, which is said to be the coronation of the Virgin Mary, shows a fat, naked woman.
Similarly, the Assumption of Mary is depicted naked. The student who drew this picture said that she is not religious, but that she can "imagine something" about it.
