FSSPX.news – January 26th 2018 Weekly Recap.

fsspx.news/en – Welcome back to another weekly news summary from FSSPX.news – Information and Analysis on the Life of the Church. This week we look at the results of the 2016 to 2017 Rosary Crusade, recent reports about persecuted Christians around the world, and the annual retreat of the Consoling Sisters of the Sacred Heart in India. fsspx.news/en/news-events/news/results-2016-2017-rosary-crusade-have-been-compiled-35112 – The results from the Rosary Crusade which took place from 2016 to 2017 have just recently been released. The preliminary worldwide total during the two years was over 8.1 million Rosaries. Although the goal of 12 million rosaries was not reached, we cannot ignore the great generosity of the United States District, where over 3 million rosaries were recited – accounting for over 37% of the worldwide total. fsspx.news/en/news-events/news/more-3000-christians-killed-their-faith-2017-215-million-persecuted-35201 – According to the numbers from a Protestant non-governmental organization over 3,000 Christians were killed for their faith in 2017. This number takes into account only those that could be confirmed with absolute certainty. Currently, North Korea is at the top of list of most hostile states towards Christianity with over 300,000 living underground in fear of their government. fsspx.news/en/news-events/news/new-developments-consoling-sisters-sacred-heart-india-35110 – This year, the annual retreat for the Consoling Sisters of the Sacred Heart was preached on the theme “The Parables of Our Lord” by Father James Peek from St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Dillwyn, Virginia. Sister Maria Immaculata, the local Superior wrote in an update letter that, “Father spent five beautiful days unearthing the treasures hidden in these parables. This greatly helped our sisters to understand more deeply the Heart of Our Savior and thus to love Him more. We are truly grateful to Father for transmitting to us this ‘eminent knowledge of Christ.’” This letter is available online at FSSPX.news For the full articles of these and other stories – visit fsspx.news/en 2018 © Society of St. Pius X.
