March 5, 1940, Sister Teresina returns to the Father’s House “Take courage, Liliana, from Heaven I shall be able to do more than on earth” (Sister Teresina of O.J.) On February 5, 1935, Sister Teresina of O.J. followed Mother Lilliana of Paradise because She believed that Jesus had clearly shown up to her His will: She had to help her novice in order to start a new Catholic Congregation: The Society of the Queen of the Lilies. Teresina knew very well the sufferings, the humiliations, the difficulties she would have to face, but she also knew that Jesus through Mother Lillian would have given her an unshakable faith a boundless love, an incredible strength and an endless joy for this mission. But when just after a few years she came down with a very horrible, incurable, in that time, disease: tuberculosis, her faith was put to the test! Mother Lillian of Paradise in the book “a Sign of challenge” allow us to glimpse something of this dramatic moment of Sister Teresina’s life when she writes: “It is very difficult, at times, to "shout out our Creed" when nothing lovable appears, and the incessant offering of oneself seems wasted because of human ingratitude, the silence of Heaven, the drama of suffering, the contrary wind of trials . . But it is precisely in these moments that the purity of our faith must be witnessed, the disposability to accept the initiative of God, incarnating it in our existence, leaving the Spirit free..” (Mother Lillian of Paradise, A sign of Challenge, pag 7) In fact, this was how Sister Teresina expressed her feelings in a moment of deep intimacy with Jesus: “Will my life die like a lamp without having done anything? And your will, that You showed me, so clear and domineering is going to be so short-lived? No, I still feel that You want it … I am sure, and I implore You to enlighten the dark way, to dissipate the darkness. I am happy to believe in Your divine words and my faith will not waver. Blessed are those who believe without seeing!” It was precisely by the support of the charisma of purity that Sister Teresina was able to see the “design of God” for her: Teresina understood that she had to accomplish her mission not on the earth, but in Heaven! That’s why on February 20, 1940, knowing that the hour to return to the Father’s House was coming soon, before going back to Polla in order to follow the doctor advise, she said to Mother Lillian: “ Take courage, Lillian, from Heaven I shall be able to do more than on earth” Her meeting “face to face” with Jesus took place on March 5, 1940. Still now, after so many years, people who get the grace to come to know about Teresina, experience in their lives her powerful intercession with God!
