Sheperd’s eyes Fourth Sunday of Easter May 12 2019 Dear Brothers and Sisters, the Gospel of Sunday May 12, 4th of Easter, presents us Jesus describing himself and his mission with the metaphor of the Good Shepherd who leads his sheep to the pastures of eternal life. And, as Pope Francis reminded us last Sunday in his homily given during the Holy Mass celebrated in Bulgaria, he gives to all of his disciples, but especially to those he has chosen to be his ministers, to see "with his own eyes that "“in sin, He sees sons and daughters to be restored; in death, brothers and sisters to be reborn; in desolation, hearts to be revived. Dear Brothers and Sisters, on Sunday May 12 we celebrate also the 56th world day of prayer for vocations. Let us pray so that all those called by Jesus to a special mission in the Church may become the His “witnesses”, He who calls us to believe that we have been "designed" by God for Heaven and not for earth; that surprises us with the "signs" of his amazing mercy capable of transforming the hearts desertified by selfishness into oases of fraternity and peace, and that transforms us, with the power of His Holy Spirit, into revolutionaries capable of changing the world sowing not hatred, but love; not corruption, but purity; not lies, but truth; not sadness, but joy; not despair, but hope; not indifference, but solidarity; not war, but peace.
