St. Maximus the Confessor (d. 662), father and doctor of the Church, teaches us in his Life of the Virgin that just as Our Lady shared perfectly in His Majesty’s pain and suffering… in His Passion, she likewise shared perfectly in His Resurrection and glory, even being the first to see Our Lord at the time of His Resurrection. She deserved this for many reasons. She will help us produce similar results in our trials, if only we will turn to her and learn with her to love our cross... To unite our suffering and with that of His Majesty, doing all for the love of God. Pray frequently to love your cross followed by a Hail Mary...
