Cardinal Donald Wuerl Homily | Black Catholic History Month Mass.

On Saturday, November 10, 2018, a Mass honoring Black Catholic History Month and the steadfast witness of African American Catholics was celebrated by Cardinal Donald Wuerl at Mount Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville, MD. At the end of the Mass, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, along with Bishop Roy E. Campbell, Jr. and the Archdiocese of Washington's Office of Cultural Diversity and Outreach Program Director Sandra Coles-Bell, presented Bishop John Ricard, SSJ, and Josephite Superior General Fr. Michael L. Thompson an award honoring the Josephites for 125 years of service to the Black Catholic community. The Mass also featured the Archdiocese of Washington's Gospel Mass Choir and the St. Teresa of Avila Dance Ministry.
