No Reasons Given: According to Marco Tosatti, there is still a very strong resistanceamong the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Immaculate against the commissioners Pope Francis has imposed on them. Tosatti points out that to this very day the Vatican has not explained the reasons why it cracked down on the order almost four years ago.

Pressure: Tosatti writes that Fr Manelli received last week a Vatican decree which writes: "Father Stefano Manelli is required to issue a statement in which he declares to accept and comply with all provisions of the Holy See and to urge the Franciscan Friars and the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate to display the same behavior.”

Money: The Vatican wants Fr Manelli to hand over the patrimony of the order, which until now, is in the hands of lay-people. Fr Manelli is further not allowed to make any public statement, to appear in public or to have any contact with the members of his order.

Sacked: On February 2nd Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles was sacked months after being rebuked by the Vatican for having approved the 1948 Marian apparitions in the Lipa Carmelite Monastery. He also received into his archdiocese refugees of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. A successor has already been appointed. Riposte-catholique.fr writes that Arguelles has never offered his resignation.

Wrong Friends: Over the weekend posters have appeared in Rome, which criticize Pope Francis for running the Church without mercy. Yesterday, the anti-Catholic Roman daily furiously defended Bergoglio. The article is written by Alberto Melloni, an ultraliberal Church historian criticized by Joseph Ratzinger for promoting a hermeneutic of rupture.

I honestly can not believe what is happening to the Catholic Church. I never thought it could happen but the nightmare of the 1970s has returned. I honestly can not believe what is happening to the Catholic Church. I never thought it could happen but the nightmare of the 1970s has returned. The Holy Father speaks of the thousands of Religious leaving their Congregations each year but clearly does not understand why. Blind! (The Spirit of Vatican II) These Franciscans of the Immaculate - male and female branches are doing their utmost to live an authentic Religious Life and their numbers are growing and yet they are being totally crushed by the Pope and his modernist henchmen. It is a total outrage. Has anything be said to the many 'religious sisters' who joined the Anti-Trump/Pro-Choice marches across America? NO!

The Pope's teaching regarding the Jewish, Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran and Muslim communities and their need to convert to the One True Faith is scandelous and in stark contradiction to the dying words of Saint Paul Miki as he was being Crucified for faithfulness to Christ and his Church. Even more importantly the words of the Gospel for his feast in the Novus Ordo Mass today. Poor Thomas Moore...he should have listened to his wife. What was the point eh?

I find it interesting to think that Pope Francis is attacking an order dedicated to the Immaculata, and the doctrines of the Immaculate Heart, and Conception. It makes it seem an indirect attack on the doctrines, or Our Lady themselves.
Am I reading too far?

Isn't it ultimately up to the local bishop to declare apparitions valid or non-valid? To my understanding the only reason Rome was asked to step in at madjegore was because of a dispute of jurisdiction, otherwise it would have been officially recognized as non-valid. Doesn't this mean, rebukes from Vatican or not, that the apparitions in Liba are valid?

I agree you have been saying the same thing for a few months and it is acceptable to every body.

The Franciscans of the Immaculate are considered crypto-Lefebvrists but the Lefebvrists are now being accepted in the Catholic Church and the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Immaculate are being threathened with closure. The SSPX can offer the Traditional Latin Mass but the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate cannot.

The local police PICS group (Emergency Response team for the Historical Center of Rome) will continue to remove them throughout Sunday when it hopes to have finished the job. Although there have been no complaints by the residents of Rome and those who saw the posters going up, the police has an ongoing investigation and will prosecute to the full extent of the law.

The placard reads in Italian, “A France’, hai commissariato Congregazioni, rimosso sacerdoti, decapitato l’Ordine di Malta e i Francescani dell’Immacolata, ignorato Cardinali… ma n’do sta la tua misericordia?” This translates into English as, “Hey Frankie, you have policed the Congregations, removed priests, decapitated the Order of Malta and the Franciscans of the Immaculate, ignored Cardinals… but where is your mercy?”

Christians with a grimace or disgruntled expression on their faces, sad Christians, are a very ugly thing. It’s really ugly, ugly, ugly. However, they are not fully Christian. They think they are (Christians) but they are not fully so.

FRANCISCANS OF THE IMMACULATE HAVE TO ACCEPT HERESY WHICH IS MAGISTERIAL
