From Behind: In the last issue of "La Civiltà Cattolica" the Jesuit Antonio Spadaro and the Protestant Marcelo Figueroa, two intimates of Pope Francis, published an attack on the American Church comparing its fight for religious freedom with Islamic terrorism. Sandro Magister considers this as an expressive both of Francis' thoughts and his management style, and as an attack on the “Ratzingerian” leadership of the U.S. Church, launched through middlemen.

Explicit: Monsignor Antonio Livi, an Italian philosopher and former Opus Dei priest, has explained why Francis does not rein the General of the Jesuits, Father Arturo Sosa. Sosa has claimed in the past that the devil is a symbolic figure only or that Church doctrine is something negative. According to Livi Francis does not punish Sosa - quote - "because Sosa states clearly and explicitly what Bergoglio probably believes in an implicit way."

Next Victim: The Corriere della Sera writes that Francis is about to fire the president of the Vatican Bank, Jean-Baptiste de Franssu who was named only in July 2014. According to the paper de Franssu feels increasingly marginalized by the Vatican nomenclature and is in Rome only for a couple of days a week.

Failed Reform: The Corriera della Sera also writes that Francis is about to reverse Cardinal Pell's financial reform and to put the Secretary of State back into power. In other words: The Italian gang with its corruption and intrigues will return. The liberal Corriere della Sera, otherwise a strong supporter of liberal Pope Francis, considers the track record of his economical reform as poor.
