Cord blood stem cells, Catholic Church, and saving lives

After a baby is born, the cord is clamped and cut. The blood remaining in the cord and placenta is full of stem cells. Sadly, this blood is usually discarded. Donating stem cells to a public stem cell bank is safe and free of any charges. The Catholic Church endorses using stem these stem cells to cure diseases such as cancer, leukemia, sickle cell disease and many others. If you are pregnant please consider donating the cord blood stem cells. The life you save might be that of your own children.
