Mission Without Mission: In his Thursday homily at Santa Marta, Pope Francis spoke about evangelization. He defined evangelization as getting up, going out and listening to the people. He added: "It's not 'Going out and proselytize’."
A Missionary: Greek Orthodox bishop, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus, has sent a lengthy letter to Turkey's President Erdogan, in which he called on Erdogan to convert to Greek Orthodoxy or face "eternal and unending" suffering in Hell, along with Muhammed and his followers. Seraphim asks Erdogan to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to be his godfather.
Mission Necessary: The Philippines are the most important Catholic country in Asia but apostasy from the Church is progressing. The population of the country is made up of four religious groups: Catholics, Protestants, Moslems and the local sect, Iglesia ni Cristo. The Catholics are with great distance the least practicing of the four groups. Since 1991 the Church …More

Not just Erdogan, but all UN governors worldwide including the Vatican "bridge-builder", Merkel and the US president... If they don´t convert to the biblical truth and don´t turn off warmongering and their terrorist brood, and their abominations like abortion, pedophilia, gender mainstreaming etc. - they will go to hell. Their time on earth is shortened... why do they waste their time and keep quiet in the cheap seats?! They were warned!

It appears we have a clear example of Pope Francis' 'hermeneutic of rupture.' In 2013 Francis had defined 'evangilization' quite differently. He wrote in EVANGELII GAUDIUM:

110. After having considered some of the challenges of the present, I would now like to speak of the task which bears upon us in every age and place, for “there can be no true evangelization without the explicit proclamation of Jesus as Lord”, and without “the primacy of the proclamation of Jesus Christ in all evangelizing work”. Acknowledging the concerns of the Asian bishops, John Paul II told them that if the Church “is to fulfil its providential destiny, evangelization as the joyful, patient and progressive preaching of the saving death and resurrection of Jesus Christ must be your absolute priority.”These words hold true for all of us.

Evangelization must always be directly connected to the Lord Jesus Christ. "There is no true evangelization if the name, the teaching, the life, the promises, the Kingdom and the mystery of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God are not proclaimed."

Why the change in Pope Francis' position?

In my opinion, the change is yet another concession made to his dear Muzzies. We would not want to mention the name of Jesus the Christ and possibly anger those who would argue against Christ's divinity or the that He is the Son of God. One might believe that the Jews are also included in Francis' new less “offensive” definition of 'evangelization', but I don't think so. The Jews are smart enough to know that Pope Francis is not a man of strong intellect, he makes contradictory statements, distorts facts and will say anything to suit his purposes at the moment.

Under Francis, apologies to the Islamic world have become the official Vatican policy. Pope Francis has even denied that Islam itself is violent and claimed that the potential for violence lies within every religion, including Catholicism. 🤫

@Dr Bobus: The Pope's method certainly is used by the modern Jesuits. The results are obvious.
Dr Bobus
I wonder whether the method the pope refers to is being used by the Jesuits to bring in novices. If so, it might explain why SJ novitiates are never full.

Jesuit Operating in the Wrong Field: I'll give the Deacon a break on his Judo training.
Judo is good exercise and a 'nice' sport especially for kids. It is less violent than Karate. However, for purposes of self-defense with either single or multiple opponents, Karate is the way to go. In fact, good Judo instructors will teach their students a few Karate techniques for self-defense purposes. 👌

When I was in college an attractive young co-ed told me that her boyfriend was a black belt in Judo and that he could “kick my brown belt (a brown belt is not as skilled as a black belt) Karate ass.” 🤬
I told the story to my Karate instructor and he told me “as long as the judo guy doesn't get his hands on you, you will kick HIS ass.” I continued with my Karate training and don't know whatever happened to the cute mouthy girl (aren't all the cute ones mouthy ? 😜 ) and I never met her Judo boyfriend. But, even today, depending on the situation, I am not comfortable when strangers get too close and “violate my space.” 🤫
