The year of three Popes.

In the space of three months in 1978, the world had three Popes: Paul VI, John Paul I and John Paul II. This extraordinary moment in the history of the Church was the motivation for the concert Festival Without Borders that began June 24 in Rome's Santa Sabina Basilica, promoted by the International Music Association. Director Marco Celli Stein explains the concert's dedication.

Readings of fragments of Paul VI's speeches, John Paul I's diary and the memoirs of John Paul II are interspersed with pieces of music played by the "Nova Amadeus" orchestra.

The changing artistic styles and genres of the music constitute the main characteristic of the festival. Through music, art, and recitation, the festival hopes to bring the public closer to the beauty and spiritual dimension of life.
