Francis Gives Tip to Parents

Yesterday, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Pope Francis baptised in the Sistine Chapel 27 children. During his short homily, he advised the parents, among other things, never to fight in front of their children. Francis said that it is normal that husband and wife may fight at times. He added – quote -, “Do it, but the children may not hear or see it. You do not know the anguish that a child experiences when he sees how the parents argue”.

In December, Stockholm Cardinal Anders Arborelius, Sweden, a convert and Carmelite, blessed an image of Saint Therese of Lisieux in the Lutheran church Vasakyrka in Gothenburg. He was accompanied by the former Lutheran lay-bishop of Gothenburg Carl Axel Aurelius, and the artist Lars Gerdmar. Arborelius became a Catholic and Carmelite after having read The History of a Soul by Therese of Lisieux.

Anti-Christian Work of “Art” on Display in Haifa

Hundreds of local Arabic speaking Christians in Haifa, Holy Land, have violently protested against an alleged work of art by the unknown Finish citizen Janei Leinonen. The offensive object shows a crucified clown. It was displayed in a local exhibition hall. Police in riot gear violently suppressed the anger of the protestors. A young Arab Christian protester asked how the Israeli regime would have reacted if the alleged artist would have exhibited a piece showing Adolf Hitler with a Torah scroll in his hands and dressed like a rabbi.

Neal McDonough, “I Am Very Religious”

The American actor Neal McDonough, a Catholic father of five, told Yahoo.com that he was fired from an ABC series after refusing to film sex scenes with the actress Virginia Madsen. After that, McDonough couldn’t get a job because everybody thought he was a – quote – “religious zealot”. McDonough says about himself, “I am very religious. I put God and family first and me second.” And, “I go to church every day and say thank you to God for everything he’s given me.” In the end, McDonough said, everything worked out well for him because the setback pushed him to improve his acting.
