Il nostro è un Dio che si nasconde per farsi trovare, un Dio che sorprende per non tradire quel primordiale annuncio che è rimasto lo stesso nel trascorrere dei giorni: “Dio ti cerca e ti sta trovando. Tu, Uomo, non te lo perdere, altrimenti sei perduto”, e perduto l'appuntamento con la sorpresa, perderai pure l'incontro con Dio al punto che, di Lui, ne farai solo grottesche caricature tutte tristi e negative. Coloro che non vivono nella gioia, non credono più in Dio e non osano nemmeno volgere lo sguardo verso il cielo e, alla religiosità popolare, hanno preferito la bestemmia come ultimo approdo di un'ostinata ricerca.
