E’ possibile far crescere la fede? In realtà credere non riguarda solo la mente ma implica la piena e incondizionata fiducia in Cristo e l’adesione convinta alla sua proposta di vita. Per questo la fede può crescere o diminuire. Gesù risponde agli apostoli descrivendo le meraviglie che la fede produce: essa realizza anche l’impossibile. “Tutto è possibile per chi crede” (Mc 9,23). Si tratta di quei cambiamenti inattesi che si realizzano in coloro che credono, quelle trasformazioni inspiegabili e imprevedibili che accadono nella società e nel mondo quando ci si fida realmente del Vangelo e lo si pone in pratica. Chi confida nella sua parola sarà testimone di miracoli straordinari e inattesi.
Can we increase our faith? Believing involves more than the role of the mind; it implies having full and unconditioned trust in Christ and adhering in a convinced manner to His plan for life. This is why faith can grow or diminish. Jesus answers the apostles by describing the marvels that faith produces: it makes the impossible possible. “Everything is possible for those who believe” (Mk 9,23).
It refers to those unexpected changes that materialize in those who believe, those unexplainable and unexpected changes that happen in society and in the world when we really trust the Gospel and we practice its teachings. Those who confide in the word of the Gospel will witness extraordinary and unexpected miracles.
