The School of Montserrat captivates Rome.

The School of Montserrat, the children's choir of the Benedictine Basilica of Catalonia, has performed a concert in Rome in the Church of Santiago and Montserrat. The school is one of the most famous sacred choirs of children in the world, consisting of more than fifty boys between the ages of nine and fourteen years.
The purpose of the school today, as in past centuries, is to participate in the daily life of the Benedictine Shrine of Montserrat, singing especially to the "Virgin Moreneta."

The abbot of Montserrat, Josep Maria Soler, explains the reason for the visit of the school to Italy:
"To present one of the riches of the monastery of Montserrat which has existed since the fourteenth century in Montserrat, to share this wealth." Lluís Girbau, student, shares what it means to be part of this choir of children who sing with pure voices."My experience of joining the school is very important to me, because since I was little I've dreamed of entering and now that I am here, to sing and convey the value of music, to communicate. That's why we sing and make music because it is a very important thing, it is very enjoyable and exciting and I am very happy to say so! " The school will also perform at the Benedictine abbey of Montecassino. Its abbot, Father Pietro Vittorelli, identifies with this chorus: "I think one of the jewels of the Benedictine order is precisely the School of Montserrat."
