As the first generation of In-Vitro-babies reaches adulthood, there are also indications that they face a higher rate of infertility - perhaps a genetic trait inherited from their parents. A doctor in the vanguard of in vitro fertilization treatment says that parents are willing to accept the risk that their children might be infertile, reasoning that the children, too, can receive in vitro fertilization treatment.

From April 17th through the 18th, 2010, Benedict XVI will travel to Malta. The pastoral visit will mark the 1950th anniversary of St. Paul’s shipwreck on the island. Aaccording to tradition it took place in the year 60 during the apostle’s trip to Rome. This is Benedict XVI’s 14th international apostolic journey, and the third time that a Pontiff will have visited the Mediterranean archipelago, after John Paul II’s visits in 1990 and 2001.

This is excellent news - congratulations to the Irish Dominicans – he comments. There was also a solemn profession in Dublin the day before, and two simple professions in Limerick the day after.

A study about homosexual adoption presented at a symposium in Mexico has revealed that most children adopted by same-sex couples display “greater levels of stress,” and suffer from “suicidal tendencies and attempts.” The symposium was organized by the Mexican Institute on Sexual Orientation “Renacer”. According to George A. Rekers, Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of South Carolina the situation of such children “produces diverse trauma and behavioral disorders that can even lead to suicidal tendencies or attempts.”
