@Patricia McKeever It was a Carmel in good standing with the local diocese, it was not SSPX (although a daily Traditional Mass at the time I was there) - and it was not in the UK.

@Maria delos Angeles - thank you for that. I wondered if it was an English Carmel. It must have been quite some time ago, if they were offering the traditional Mass. Sadly, the Carmelites have been quite modernist for a good while now. I have wonderful friends in Carmel but when I visit, we avoid speaking about the crisis in the Church!

@Patricia McKeever I am glad I had the experience, I think there is a need to translate that spirituality in the world , especially in this day and age where they are trying to shut the contemplatives down. St Teresa of Avila has been a great spiritual mentor. The Little Flower I am sure helped bring it all to me. This was well before the corona crisis shut down of everything.
