On Wednesday, Philadelphia became the latest city to legalize rentals through online marketplaces like Airbnb.
The city changed its zoning rules to allow for short-term rentals in residential areas, which have been operating tax free.Organizers expect about 15,000 attendees at the World Meeting of Families, from September 22 to 27, and as many as 1.5 million people for Pope Francis' public appearances on Sept. 26 and 27. The city's hotel stock comprises about 11,000 rooms, many of which are already booked.
