"Leo XIV Appoints Catastrophic Bishops in Series"

On 5 October, philosopher Vigilius wrote on the German Substack.com account Einsprüche that Leo XIV’s personnel policy is catastrophic. The lengthy text critically assesses the pontificate of Leo XIV, accusing him of theological inconsistency, weak leadership, and dangerous accommodation of false ideological ideas.

The main phrase is: "The still-unreplaced Prefect of the Dicastery for Religious Orders, Signorina Brambilla — who has even received additional female reinforcement from Leo XIV — and the catastrophic bishops whom he appoints in series, with only a few exceptions, fall entirely under his own responsibility."

He adds: "It is irrelevant whether these processes began during the Bergoglio era. Leo’s signature is on the appointment documents. It is his decision."

Furthermore, the author notes that Leo XIV contradicts his support for marriage through his seemingly harmless remarks about the homosexual agenda. In a recent interview, Leo XIV admitted that he "does not yet have a plan" regarding homosexual ideology.

Vigilius: "He could never say such a thing if he truly understood the philosophical content embedded within this supposedly humanitarian agenda."

The author also comments that Leo XIV’s statements — saying he has "no intention at present" and that it is "very unlikely" to change the Church's teaching on women deacons and homosexuality — imply that these doctrines could, in principle, be subject to change. If Leo XIV truly believes in immutable truths, these are clearly not among them.

Finally, the author warns that Leo XIV confuses Christian conversion with 'ecological conversion'. By equating Christianity with a project of 'integral ecology', Leo XIV undermines the faith.
