Accused of Abuse: Priest Commits Suicide

Rev. Guillem Feliu was found dead in his home last week. According to several sources, he has committed suicide.

The diocese of Mallorca, Spain, to which Feliu belonged, said there were two complaints against him for alleged sexual abuse of minors that occurred a few years ago.

The allegations were not canonically barred by the statute of limitations, so Feliu was immediately removed from his parish.

The investigation was in its early stages and had not reached a conclusion at the time of Feliu's death.

According to local media, the Bishop of Mallorca, Monsignor Sebastián Taltavull, had a "very close" relationship with the deceased priest.
