I have to disagree. Our eternal soul will spend eternity in either heaven or hell. I can not trust any human being with my eternal soul and I do not think God would have me do that, as a matter of fact, many places in the Holy Bible it speaks against putting your trust in man.
Yes, there are many liberal Protestant churches that do not follow the clear teachings of the Holy Bible, but on the other hand, there are many liberal Catholics who do not follow the teachings of the Catholic Church.
How many Catholics do not believe in contraception? Maybe it is the official teaching of the Catholic church, but if the people don't follow it, so what. Many Protestants do not believe in birth control either, maybe not many, but some. Probably the same amount as Catholics who do not use some form of birth control.

que bien ACL! I am still going to try to find some more info on M Voris to post so that our fellow Protestant brothers can see that what he states is supported and thus fueling the fire within them to learn more about our Faith.

Sometimes when we hold something true in our hearts we so desperately want others to see it and feel it and realize it that our passions do get the way. I believe that it comes from a good place but we do need to deliver it in a structured manner as for others to see it clearly. I completely understand your point. De verdad!!

I admire Brother Ross' tenacity as well! (I cant help but to think of him when I see this emoticon haha) We are all on the same side of the battle. We are truly fighting a spiritual combat here and its up to us to stand our ground. As we are soldiers of Christ, the one true faith. I am glad that M Voris is one of our Captains here to give us the fire we need to keep that fight alive His delivery of his material is done in a "in your face, no sugar coating it" style but also it's the way we like to get our information here in the US so sometimes the delivery matches the crowd you are addressing if that makes any sense.

I now understand where the Vortex and Mr Voris is coming from: Education of the Choir [so to speak ] before singing for the masses! Excellent!! We now understand each other rather well my dear!

But on the other hand, as you say, many of the "us" of whom you speak [Roman Catholics], dont tend to take a balanced approach to faith; balanced with reason, and so get caught up in too much hype! It is in this way that I challenge my fellow Roman Catholics not to give to the protestants amo! They say we just follow like puppets whatever the heirachy teaches, but as JPII and Benedict XVI encourages, we MUST use that God given gift of reason in doing so- tis all part of being fully human.

I completely understand your side in the sense of us having to have corroborating evidence to support our opinions especially when displayed in the media and to so many. I think, and this is just my opinion, is that Mr. Voris is first trying to educate "us" and bring back our common understanding of what the Catholic church is. What I like about him is his "passion" for our faith. We need more of that.you know?

So in essence, baby steps for us so WE can then know our faith better. I can see where we would want our Protestant bretheren to understand where we are coming from as well but I think we are dealing with an internal issue too w/i our own Faith and that is lack of knowledge of what we believe etc. This video I posted is extremely edited usually he does quote the bible or refer to other sources (I shall continue searching!!)

I understand the hamburger well done example too, nicely put. But I really think that M Voris is trying to get us as Catholics to understand where the meat comes from before we start cooking burgers for others.

My main fear was that even if M voris is not providing supporting evidence tha the information he is dispersing to us as Catholics is erroneous....I was afraid that was the case then we would have a bigger issue. But it seems like he is in accordance w/our teachings he just needs to back it up for others who are not so aware of our faith to understand it better.

However, still he gives no corroborating evidence.... yes WE believe this, but what of the Anglicans, Lutherans, Presbyterians and Bapatists et al, who look or watch at this? It is tantamount to me saying to my fellows, "Look here! I am saying that the hamburger is well done", [we all accept that it is], but others looking on, who enjoy a more burnt offering, want to know WHY we think the hamburger is well done, to them, it's only now starting! This is my point. The Vortex and Mr Voris is fine, but the faith has much more to it than just utterances, there is the fides et ratio [faith and reason] element of JP II. Lets not get too caught up in sensationalism.... Like JPII [and indeed Pope Benedict XVI] let us ask more probing questions, let the world know that we know what we are talking about, that we Roman Catholics are intelligent people! Not just cultist groupies!
