Actually they tell you the truth. If you oxidize graphene at high temperatures then you get CO2 when you suspend that in water then you get H2O+CO2 -> H2CO3. The stuff that makes your soda bubble. There is always some in your typical vaccine.
Now GO, or Graphene oxide, are very small nano-particles that make other reactions or mechanisms go smoother so to say. It is used for drug delivery.
