Advent Patience vs Revolutionary Impatience.

Advent signal patience. That is, Advent is about waiting and enduring many trials and tribulations to be made worthy of the fulfillment of the promises of Christ. And the virtue of patience is what makes it possible to embrace these difficulties without failing. We are living in an Advent like moment in which much has been promised but has yet to be fulfilled. A great danger is present: the temptation to act out of due order... to act impatiently as we await the fulfillment of the promises. When we give in to this temptation (which many are doing today... even for seemingly good motives), we end up helping the revolutionaries advance their cause (via dialectics). As a result we delay the fulfillment of the promises. No, we must endure the trials before us to be made worthy of the promises of Christ and not give way to impatience. The only way to do this is seek out Our Lady and pray to love our cross. She will help us. A very helpful book containing a 30 Day meditation on Patience is very helpful in living this virtue and it is available from www.loretopubs.org.
