THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY.
The assumption of Our Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven is a Dogma; a truth which the Church puts before us as revealed by God. Catherine Emmerich, in her visions, asserts that Mary died forty eight years after the birth of Christ, at the age sixty four. Having gone from Ephesus to Jeruselem to follow again the footsteps of her Son in the way of the Cross, she fell mortally sick and died of grief. It is said that the apostle Thomas, having arrived in Jerusalem to late to assist in her interment, was desirous to see her remains in the sepulcher; but when it was opened nothing was found there but the grave clothes in which her body had been wrapped. The body of the Blessed Virgin was assumed gloriously into heaven. Mary was, in fact, Chosen by God to be the Mother of His Son, she was preserved from the stain of original sin, she was raised gloriously from the tomb, and crowned Queen of Heaven.

O Most Holy Mary, remember me and pray for me, I beg thee intercede for me, carry my petitions and many needs and lay them at the feet of your Son, my Lord Jesus Christ; and thank Him as I thank you, with all of my heart and soul; saying, “Jesus I Trust in You”…Amen
