Gaza in relation to Ben Gurion Canal, Israel, an alternative to the Suez Canal,
The canal would connect the Gulf of Aqaba (Eilat) in the Red Sea with the Mediterranean Sea and would pass through Israel and end in or near the Gaza Strip (Ashkelon). It is an Israeli alternative to the Suez Canal that became actual in the 1960s after Nasser’s nationalization of Suez.
