Irish tenor, John McCormack regarded his singing of Panis Angelicus at the Eucharistic Congress of 1932 to be the pinnacle of his career. Held in Dublin, McCormack sang at Phoenix Park to an audience of a million people. He was a very religious man and had a deep Catholic faith. He donated thousands of dollars to the Church's many charities and performed many fund raising recitals.
He was made a Papal Count in 1928.
