St. Leonhard's Church was built in 1219 and is the oldest church in the city center of Frankfurt. It suffered very little damage during WWII, making it a treasure trove of archeology finds for the archeologists and historians of Frankfurt. The church is a traditional stop on the Camino/Jakobsweg and was once a gathering point for pilgrims meeting up in Germany before heading towards France and Spain on their way to Santiago de Compostela. If you are walking the Camino/Jakobsweg through Frankfurt, you can get your Pilgrim Pass stamped at the House am Dom, the Deutsche Orden Kirche, and Justinus Kirche in Höchst. Open weekdays from 1500-19:00, and weekends from 11:00-18:00. Roman Catholic Mass is held on weekends in German, English, and French. Check the website for hours and language.
