Nine New Allegations of Sexual Abuse Against the Late Abbé Pierre

The Egaé group published on January 13 a third documentation against Abbé Pierre, the founder of Emmaüs. The report came at the request of Emmaüs France and details nine new accusations of sexual violence.

Abbé Pierre was a anti-Catholic priest and a darling of the regime and the regime press in France. He died in 2007 and cannot defend himself. The Egaé group was co-founded by a dubious feminist activist, a certain Caroline de Haas.

The first publications were in July and September 2024. The new 19-page report covers events between the 1960s and 2000.

A new serious allegation against Abbé Pierre is "an act involving penetration of a minor boy", aged 9. He did not want the details of his testimony to be specified, but he allegedly "provided evidence to attest to the veracity of his testimony," the report says.

A woman, a member of the priest's family, alleged that he incestuously touched her in the late 1990s, when Abbé Pierre was nearly 90 years old. According to her, the priest touched her breast, forced her to kiss him and made slippery comments.

The other testimonies were given by women who met Abbé Pierre in various circumstances: two nurses in hospitals, where he was treated, a flight attendant, an employee of Emmaus, a participant in a youth camp, a young woman working in a hotel.

The currently more than thirty (!) witnesses of the three reports, mostly women, describe touching of the breasts, the genitals, the buttocks, forced kissing or exhibition.

Nine other people spoke on behalf of alleged victims, who are either dead or do not wish to testify. Among them are two accounts involving boys aged between 8 and 10 at the time, before 1965.

Additional information: Abbé Pierre said he was homosexually abused as a 7-year-old child by older peers. He wrote this in a 17-page letter in the 1930s, when he was in his 20s, after joining the Capuchins (LeMonde.fr, December 13).
