Holy Door Cannot Be Exploited for Homosexual Ideology - Cardinal Müller
- We were all delighted that Pope Leo began his pontificate with Christ.
- Social and political issues are part of the Church’s mission, but its primary purpose is to preach the Gospel of salvation and eternal life.
- The Pope is not isolated like an autocrat, but has a college of cardinals that is his senate.
- The Pope does not present himself according to the rules of a Hollywood star, but as a good shepherd.
Müller Attacks Strawman-Traditionalists
- There are different rites in the Church, including the Latin rite, which is the most widespread.
- The fathers of the Council wanted only to change the rite a little to facilitate the "active participation" of the faithful.
- There are some who have reservations about the Novus Ordo and remained with the Latin rite as it was until 1962. Some [who?] of these so-called traditionalists say that only this form is valid. We [who?] cannot accept this.
- We must find a solution, which distinguishes between the substance of the sacraments and the partially changeable rites.
- The issue cannot be resolved with authoritarianism. Mediation is needed: both sides must move a little towards each other.
"Todos, todos, todos" Must Mean Conversion
- The Holy Year and the Holy Door cannot be exploited for a homosexual ideology.
- The Church accepts all people and their problems, but God created man and woman, and only this union in marriage is the rightful way to live the conjugal relationship.
- Many want to understand Francis’ "todos, todos, todos" as the acceptance of a lifestyle that goes against the Christian way of life.
- The early Christians required gladiators, who killed during sports, to change their lives before baptism. And so it is for many other categories of people...
Abortion and Death Penalty Not Morally Equivalent
- Abortion means killing an innocent person and is a brutal crime. It cannot be placed on the same level as the death penalty for a criminal who has killed other people.
- Among the teachings of the Church it was accepted, within certain limits and in extreme cases, that civil authorities could apply death penalty.
- States have every right to regulate illegal immigration and protect their own population, perhaps from criminals arriving from other countries.
