Scholarships For Mexican Girls In Poverty

Scholarships For Mexican Girls In Poverty
Summary

We seek to bring education to girls in poverty through our scholarship program. From 1991, we have served 14,088 girls and 10,908 families. The project is currently providing scholarships to 692 students.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

The children we serve live in marginalized areas where they are constantly exposed to dangers such as violence, addictions and insecurity, and face a high level of poverty that puts them at risk of dropping out of their studies. Meyalli School offers them an opportunity to receive a complete education.

How will this project solve this problem?

Education is the strategy that strenghtens the potential of each person, accompanied by actions aimed to develop technical and human capacities. Education is a fundamental tool for people to be able to overcome poverty by themselves. Through a scholarship, a girl in poverty will have the opportunity get the necessary education to have a better future.

Potential Long Term Impact

Education can bring significant benefits to mexican society, not only by increasing the possibilities to get higher employment opportunities and income but also to improve the lives of people in poverty. In the long term, these girls will become professional women with a better quality of life. Since 1991, this project has served 14,088 girls and 10,088 families, impacting in a positive way in more than 25,000 people in their community. Our goal is to continue changing lives.
