Justice Official Removed After Calling Francis an 'Anti-Pope'

"He is an anti-pope who has taken over the Church," Antonio Pappalardo, the interim director of the Juvenile Justice Center of Emilia-Romagna, Italy, wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.

Pappalardo was removed from his post just two days later, Ansa.it reported.

Democratic Party [= 'former' Communists] parliamentarians had asked Minister Nordio to intervene against Pappalardo. The Ministry of Justice, Carlo Nordio (Fratelli d'Italia, 'former' Fascists), launched an investigation aimed to determine whether Pappalardo's statements violated professional or ethical standards expected of public officials.

Following the investigation, Pappalardo's removal from office was confirmed.
